The Department of Social Work, St Berchmans College, Changanacherry organised a Guest Talk by Daya Bai, a renowned social activist and social worker, on the theme “Rehabilitation of Endosulfan Victims in Kerala” in Msgr Kallarackal Hall, on 27 January, 2020. In her talk, she mentioned about various problems experienced by the Endosulfan Victims in the Kasargod District of Kerala state and she also pointed out the importance of proper rehabilitation in this regard. She has said that “even though there are many offers with respect to the rehabilitation of victims, all such offers are still in papers alone. The Solo drama performed by Daya Bai depicting the pathetic situation of endosulfan victims was very touching and gained the attraction of the entire audience. In the solo drama. she appeared in the role of different victims and shared their bitter experiences due to the exposure to this deadly pesticide. Dr Jacob Mathew M, Principal, St Berchmans College presided over the function and Mr Deepak Joseph, Head, Social Work Department welcomed the gathering. The programme was enriched with the presence and participation of teachers and students from various departments in SB college. A total of 165 participants registered and attended the programme.
