The Department of Applied Sociology was established in 2024 with a vision to cultivate a new generation of applied sociologists who are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values to critically analyze social issues, develop innovative solutions, and contribute meaningfully to societal progress. The department offers a two-year full-time Master of Arts in Applied Sociology program, designed to equip students with the theoretical and practical expertise necessary for successful careers in a diverse range of applied settings. Our MA Applied Sociology program aims to educate students for leadership roles in the field, fostering their ability to conduct rigorous social research, analyze social policies, and develop and implement effective community development interventions. The department is committed to fostering a vibrant learning environment that encourages critical thinking, ethical practice, and a deep understanding of social realities. Through supervised fieldwork, community projects, and collaborations with local organizations, students gain practical experience and contribute to positive social change within their communities.
