The buzzword across the globe for the 21st century is ‘Innovation’. Without innovation no country can achieve sustainable development and prosperity. 21st century is century of Innovation. Innovation should become the part of educational culture of all students, and it must not be limited only to students of professional courses. Innovation means original thinking /and everyone can contribute their ideas to promote innovation.

Apart from The National Institutional Ranking Framework NIRF Ranking, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India has introduced ‘Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) to systematically rank / education institutions and universities primarily on innovation related indicators. Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) will encourage healthy competition among Higher Educational Institutions. In order to fulfil the requirements of ARIIA framework and to attain best position in ARIIA ranking/ our college has instituted the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) . The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of our College has been approved by the MHRD, Govt of India.

The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) at SB College Changanacherry has been initiated with a vision to promote Innovation and Entrepreneurship among the students. The IIC provides the students with the right resources for making their initial business start-up a success.

Through IIC, it is proposed to organize three-pronged programmes such as Aspiration, Assistance and Competitions.

The Aspiration programs are training on Cognitive skills, Design Thinking, Entrepreneurship Development Programs, Skill development programs, Speaker Series, Idea Generation workshop, Start-up to Idea Workshop, Panel Discussion on Early Stage Investments and Start-up Showcase,

The Assistance to be provided are Product Identification, Market Survey, tools for market research, Preparation of Project Reports and Assist them in getting Technical feasibility Reports

The Competitions planned are Idea competition, Hackathon (software and hardware), Business Plan Competition, and Science fest

The IIC also plan to collaborate with various external agencies like, MSME, NSIC, DIC and Financial Institutions and Banks like IDBI and SIDBI. We are also plan to channelize the assistance of Venture Capitalists and angel Investors.
