SB College is blessed with an active alumni association, the mother chapter, which maintains a link for her worldwide alumni to share their rich experiences, skills, ideas, time, and loyalty with the alma mater. SB’s alumni chapters have been actively functioning in many places around the globe. The activities and contributions of those external chapters are the key elements in the success of the alumni association and that of the college. The college warmly welcomes recommendations from the alumni in improving the academic programmes of the college and in specific projects such as promoting collaborative research, organizing campus recruitments, establishing national and international linkage etc.

Every year on January 26, the alumni association organises a Grand Alumni Meet in the campus. To facilitate alumni participation and foster a sense of belonging, several other events are arranged by the mother chapter during the entire year, including batchwise reunions. The alumni also provide scholarships worth more than Rs.3 lakhs to the graduate and postgraduate students of the college, who secure first ranks in their respective disciplines during the academic year. These scholarships go a long way in motivating the student community. The Kuwait chapter of the alumni association sponsors the annual Berchmans Award for the best college teacher in Kerala.
Being a premier institution in the field of higher education, St Berchmans College is committed towards recognizing and fostering the talents of both the teaching and student community alike. To facilitate this noble ideal, the prestigious “Berchmans Award” has been instituted by the Kuwait Chapter of the Alumni Association of the College in the year 1998, for recognizing and honouring the works and life's achievements of the best teachers in Kerala at the collegiate level.
The Alumni of St Berchmans College have reposed faith in the academic growth of the Institution and hence instituted several scholarships for the students.
SAMIDHA is an all-Kerala intercollegiate Botany quiz competition organized by the department of Botany. It is organized with the financial support of the 1988-1990 M. Sc. Botany batch of the department.
